About Abaseen

In the heart of Bradford’s bustling Leeds Road, this Afghan spot offers a grounded taste of home-style cooking that draws in locals and visitors alike. The menu leans heavily on hearty, flavourful dishes that feel comforting and familiar, like chapli kebabs cooked with a charcoal touch and richly spiced fish masala that tends to surprise first-timers with its crispiness and depth. Breakfast options are simple and satisfying, featuring traditional items like paranthas and desi chai, making it a quiet choice for early solo diners.

The space itself is modest and casual, leaning more towards functionality than flair, which fits the tone of the food — unpretentious and focused on delivering solid, authentic flavours. The usual crowd includes families after a relaxed meal, groups who share small plates, and anyone seeking a no-fuss dining experience that feels welcoming across a diverse range of visitors, including LGBTQ+ and family-friendly groups. You can find a mix of table and counter service, and the place’s accessibility has a few limitations, but parking is straightforward, making it easy to drop by whether you’re dining in or grabbing a quick takeout on the go.

Beyond the food, the atmosphere carries a sense of warmth that feels more about hospitality than presentation, with a kitchen rhythm that welcomes those who appreciate honest, well-executed Afghan dishes over elaborate settings. Whether stopping in for a brisk lunch or settling in for a casual dinner, the spot tends to pull in those who enjoy strong, traditional flavours without the fuss, making it a quietly reliable option in a busy part of Bradford.

What Locals Say

The food is always just sooo good, even tho the chapli kebabs are what they are famous for. The thing that always has me coming back is actually the masala fish highly highly recommend it. It's crispy the fish is flaky and the flavours are always on point. For three kebabs a potion of fish, 3 naans and there drinks it all came out to £25 so definitely wallet friendly too in this day and age

If you want to have the closest authentic experience of the Kebabs from Peshawar! This is the place to be. Hands down one of the best places for the food in Bradford and the hospitality of the hosts is second to none! Highly recommended!

The place is small to look at but big on true authentic Afghan food flavours . Their Famous Chapli Kebab is just fantastic. Also the Fish Masala is seriously good.

Mashallah! My friend treated me here and wow! The chicken boti was A1! Charcoal style and perfectly cooked along with the Chapli kebab which I'm not a fan of but this one flavour was stop on! A lil gem of a place

Being a fan of Chapli kabab and taste buds of critic, I love the kabab here . These are easily the best chapli kabab you can have in UK, given I hail from North of Pakistan and no one can do them better than how its made in Mardan (takht bahi ). There is much to done to the ambiance of the place but if you can eat in your car then it shouldn't bother you . Best comfort food at a very low price.

Top fresh food at good prices. Can’t go wrong here. Chapal Kebabs are fried fresh in front of you but unfortunately will knock a star off the overall rating as the guy frying the kebabs started getting funny about me recording the frying process. Accept card payments. HMC Approved.

Family tables upstairs Good food but pricey compared to before. Best chapel kebab but the nan provided is way too small. It needs to be 4x bigger.

Authentic food freshly made. You can't tell from picture but the chapli kebabs r next level, fat and juicy full of flavour with a scrambled egg sprinkled over them. We got a portion of chips and a portion of freshly fried fish as well. the chutni goes down amazingly with the chapli kebabs and the naan is really big also. You may not think the place is good because of the interior, forget that you go there to eat the food and not the decor. Lovely people at the place as well. Make this place your cheat days for fried food all you healthy people , x
